Hourly rate
$25.00

Gross hourly equivalent for the weekly pay and hours entered.

Annualized income at 52 weeks
$52,000.00

How weekly to hourly conversion works

The calculator divides weekly income by hours worked in that week.

It also shows a simple 52-week annualized income for context, but the hourly result does not require annualizing.

If the weekly amount includes overtime or bonuses, the result is an average hourly equivalent rather than a base hourly rate.

Formula

Hourly Rate = Weekly Income / Hours per Week

Weekly to hourly conversion is direct because both inputs describe the same week. Use the hours actually worked or paid for in that week.

  • Weekly Income is the pay amount for one week.
  • Hours per Week is the number of hours worked or paid for in that same week.

What the Numbers Mean

Weekly income
The pay amount for one week before taxes, unless you intentionally enter take-home pay.
Hours per week
The hours connected to that weekly pay amount. Include unpaid overtime if you want effective hourly pay.

Assumptions

  • The default is 40 hours per week, but any weekly-hour schedule can be entered.
  • The hourly result is gross pay if weekly income is gross pay.
  • Overtime, bonuses, and commissions included in weekly pay turn the result into an average hourly equivalent.
  • The annualized income result assumes the same weekly pay for 52 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert weekly pay to hourly pay?

Divide weekly pay by hours worked that week. For example, $800 divided by 40 hours is $20/hour.

Does this assume 40 hours per week?

The default is 40 hours, but you can enter any weekly-hour amount.

Should I include overtime hours?

Include overtime hours if you want the effective hourly rate for the whole week. Use the overtime calculator to calculate premium overtime pay separately.

Is the result before or after taxes?

The result matches the input. If weekly income is gross pay, the hourly result is gross. If weekly income is take-home pay, the result is take-home hourly pay.

Why show annualized income?

Annualized income helps compare weekly pay with annual salary, but it assumes the same weekly pay for all 52 weeks.

Can I use this for part-time weekly pay?

Yes. Enter weekly pay and the part-time hours worked that week.
